Today's the Day

8 November 2008, 0530 hrs

I'm in my 39th week of pregnancy. For the past week, I had been eagerly anticipating baby's arrival. This time, I really want to have a natural delivery so badly. My bag is all packed and every night, I would wish that my waterbag would break or I would experience contractions...but nothing happened.

On Thursday, I went to Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) to confirm baby's dimensions. Baby's head circumference is 35 cm and weight is 3.653 kg. Amir Hakim was born at 38 weeks; head circumference was 36 cm and weight was 3.5 kg. After having through C-section for the first delivery, i discussed with my gynae Dr Lawrence Ang and we decided to go for C-section directly.

I was sad that I am not able to deliver naturally but i've come to accept reality and my fate. What's more important is that baby's healthy. So, today's the day that baby will be born. Rizal and i will be reaching TMC at around 10 am and the operation is scheduled at around 1 pm.

Please pray for us and for the safe delivery of our little one.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get angry too quickly, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too seldom, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life; we've added years to life, not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not i...
