The last hurdle!

Greetings Netizens! For my family... wish you all well and in good health! For my class, same as above, BUT let's give our all for the next couple of months... the rewards are worth all the sacrifices you will make! "I have no special talents. I'm just passionately curious" ~ Albert Einstein

One year older

Firstly, I wanna thank all my mates and colleagues for wishing me a Happy BD! A special shout-out to my hommies; Blue 1, 2 & 3...thanks bros! Ok, can't waste time now. Gotta go do my subuh prayers at the mosque and head for a morning swim. Told myself that I need to be a better role m odel for my sons, both spiritually and physically! Having fun with Yoono on Firefox...can Tweet & FB concurrently!

Greetings Netizens on this warm and balmy Monday night. Hakim is screaming at the top of his lungs for biscuits to his A-mah. Phew..need to teach the little man to be more patient. Met an old friend online recently, and was reacquainted with Twitter . Thanks Reds! I was also led to this pretty awesome music streaming website called  simply, thesixtyone . Truly a web 2.0 app that gets folks involve in celebrating and recognising musical talent and ability not the candypop packages that we 'see' so much nowadays. Music - darn good music - as it should be heard! OWAD - brusque - adjective , abrupt or offhand in speech or manner : She could be brusque and impatient. Till next time!

Pollination versus Pollution!

Greetings Netizens! Sigh..so far ONWAD's not going as planned..hehe. Ahh but I would like to share some quotes about what I've read from Wired magazine - simply awesome mag! Especially prior to tomorrow's Science mid terms. Gotta rummage through the bag first. Quotes: It's the questions, not the answers, that make science the ultimate adventure - Brian Greene What is Science, after all, but a never-ending detective story? - Chris Anderson Adieu!

Clearing the cobwebs in here!

Greetings netizens, I've been rather preoccupied lately but still no excuse for not touching base here. After some chit-chat with friends at work, I'll start 2 things on this blog in order for me to it more meaningful and purposeful, for both my readers and muah! One new word a day (ONWAD) Book review or excerpts from what ever I've read or am reading for the week. Phew! Seems like quite a daunting task but I'm keen on seeing this through. Shucks...just remembered something about getting phrasal verbs dictionary for my pupils! Let's open up a new tab for that. Anyways, ONWAD - befuddled : to perplex or confuse, The question befuddled even the teacher. See you soon.

Just slide...and chill

Shanghai Bus Terminal

I'm having breakfast with my family and am watching this excellent documentary on discovery channel - Shanghai Bus Terminal. At first i was overwhelmed by the sheer no. of folks and families heading back home, some as far as a 24hr bus ride, to celebrate the lunar new year. Most of them are migrant workers whom have worked their butts off for the whole year to save up and spend quality time with beloved family members. Sadly, not all of these folks are literate, most don't even know how to buy a ticket in the first place. These migrant workers or the 'new' Shanghainese, total about 4 million in strength - that's about the whole population of Singapore! I see both the good and bad side of human characters in the show. BAD: A man was robbed on the way to the terminal. Scalpers taking advantage of the situation & selling tickets at 10 times their original prices. Migrant workers who were not paid by their employer only bus fare to go home! GOOD: A stranger helping
