Strange comments...

I was surprised to get an email about a 'weird' comment made anonymously by someone on this blog. Hmmm... wonder who it is? Anyways just fed my second tot his milk, I really don't get it as to why he has to SCREAM and WAIL so loud for milk? I guess when you can't really 'talk' yet or physically wake up your dad who sleeps like a log up, SCREAMING and WAILING should do the trick!

Today's the Day

8 November 2008, 0530 hrs I'm in my 39th week of pregnancy. For the past week, I had been eagerly anticipating baby's arrival. This time, I really want to have a natural delivery so badly. My bag is all packed and every night, I would wish that my waterbag would break or I would experience contractions...but nothing happened. On Thursday, I went to Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) to confirm baby's dimensions. Baby's head circumference is 35 cm and weight is 3.653 kg. Amir Hakim was born at 38 weeks; head circumference was 36 cm and weight was 3.5 kg. After having through C-section for the first delivery, i discussed with my gynae Dr Lawrence Ang and we decided to go for C-section directly. I was sad that I am not able to deliver naturally but i've come to accept reality and my fate. What's more important is that baby's healthy. So, today's the day that baby will be born. Rizal and i will be reaching TMC at around 10 am and the operation is scheduled at a

Of blogs and bloggers...

Talked to my pupils form IFC today about blogging. I was a bit concerned that folks were more interested on beautifying their blogs with blogskins than really making it a fully functional and easy-to-use form of online reflection and thoughts. I guess, I can't blame anyone for that as the desire for all of us to be unique from one another does reveal itself in almost all aspects of our lives. But I do want these initial stages to move on a bit faster so as we can continue learning other stuff!

Can't sleep well.

sigh...sigh... feeling despondent about things right now, especially with how my pupils' fared for their year end exams. Really need to pull myself together and reflect on what I've done that worked and what didn't. There's a high probability I'll be teaching most of my current group of pupils again. New approaches and strategies will have to be employed to better engage everyone for the very crucial year ahead. This will be a huge challenge for BOTH parties involved. I definitely need to get greater parental support this time round.

The last lap

I was on my way to marking PSLE scripts @ Toa Payoh. in a crowded mrt train but chillin' with hari raya tunes on my ipod. sepasang kurung biru...such sweet melancholy...thankfully my malay is still good enough to really appreciate the words. sighh... feels good. though eid celebrations have become low key for the past few years, i've stepped it up a notch a bit this year by hanging twinkling lights! energy-effecient LEDs, for the record. : ) wait..there's an unfamiliar raya song being played. Anyways, probably with my sons Hari raya might take on a different meaning in years to come. For me the takbir-my memories of my grandparents it rekindles & the old school, evergreen Raya songs will always be my version of a sweet & tranquil Eid celebrations. one more shout-out to my beloved pupils- all the best for your year-end exams. Your best is yet to come. Insha'allah!

ehem...err... he writes, eventually

Greetings netizens who are still up and scouring the information superhighway, in search of whatever that soothes your craving for information/entertainment! I am having a slight reprieve from the hustle and bustle, to say the least, of school term 3 that finally whizzed by...phew! I was bedridden the whole of last Sunday & Monday due to fever, flu and congested lungs. What a way to start the week long holiday, eh ;) Anyways, time for me to reflect on what I've been through this past term in my capacities (thank god there's a spell check function in this blog - just misspelled capacities and misspelled!) as Form teacher of 5 Joy (first and foremost) Science teacher of 4 Trust (my beloved lot) PE teacher (making touch rugby interesting) Infocomm Club Teacher (figuring out what's best for my CCA) I know men are naturally programmed to multi-task but am at the time of writing this, am checking through my bills, editing and tweaking IFC pbwikipage, configuring my just downl
